MicrDIMM Pro provides secure MICR check printing capability plus up to 30MB of flash storage to securly store signatures, logos, fonts, forms. Those elements can be loaded in the MicrDIMM Flash memory using the hp WebJetAdmin complimentary hp software.
The signatures or logo images are scanned and placed in the DIMM as macros or fonts (up to 30MB of Flash storage).
MicrDIMM exists in 5 versions, featuring more functions from level I to 5.
This version (for DOS and Unix only) includes the E-13B, CMC-7, OCR-A and OCR-B high resolution symbols, resident in the DIMM. The DIMM may contain both the signature / logo images and the MICR font (BarDIMM Pro version with 3MB of flash storage).
This version includes a special firmware that transforms a standard printer into a more complete MICR printer, while keeping all the printer original capabilities. In addition to the MICR fonts it also provides the following features:
<Esc>(s0p302h10v3240,6696,1920b936,6840,3840s25010T1854.00USD
****One-Thousand-Eight-Hundred-Fifty-Four-Dollars********
Level 2 also features the FreeScape system, which allows the use of standard printable characters in place of the LaserJet Escape character. With FreeScape, the Escape code can have a synonym, a user-defined Escape Code or Alternate Escape Code (AEC). That character acts exactly like the standard Escape Code when found at the beginning of a regular PCL sequence, and can be a printable character. This functionality allows all systems (like AS/400, Unix, Mainframes) to use PCL and activate the internal printer resources, even if they cannot send binary data to a printer. FreeScape eases the integration of Barcodes, Check printing and Form overlay activation in your ERP application.
When a level 2 or higher MicrDIMM is in use, the signatures are stored as macros and cannot be called unless the MICR Mode has been activated. To activate the Level 2 features, the following commands are used:
MICR Mode control commands:
The E-13B and CMC-7 fonts are activated using PCL font call sequences.
The Level 2 DIMM can also contain signature and logo images (option) and is customer installable.
This level offers all of the functionality of Level 2 plus the addition of a sensor that will verify the installation of a compliant MICR toner cartridge when attempting to enter MICR mode. This feature is beneficial when a printer is not dedicated to check printing and the user wants to change the MICR toner to non-MICR toner when not printing checks.

The software key also locks the MICR symbols, Check API, MICR signatures and forms overlay (macros).
This level is activated in the same manner as level 2.
This option must be installed by a trained technician. If an existing printer is to be used, it must be sent to a Jetmobile VAR for modification.
Level 4This level offers all of the functionality of Level 3 plus the addition of a hardware key lock that secures the MICR functionality. The printer cannot be MICR enabled if the key is not activated, thus denying access to the MICR font and secured images. This level is activated in the same manner as Level 2. The hardware key also locks the MICR symbols, Check API, MICR signatures and forms overlay (macros). This option must be installed by a trained technician. If an existing printer is to be used, it must be sent to the Jetmobile distributor for modification. |
