compliance with
Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPPA laws |
Your company
uses a number of printers and MFPs/copiers?
The following questions
might then have been asked by users, IT, legal or finance
department:
- How comes highly confidential
unclaimed documents remain on copiers and printers output trays or
in the bin next to them? This has a cost and creates high risks or
confidential information leaks, and today we are definitely not
compliant with
Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPPA laws...
- Could we save money and reduce IT
support by replacing all personal printers by network printers
with secure private mailbox, without putting at risk confidential
information output by users?
- MFPs can send emails. How could
we quickly and safely authenticate email senders and inject their
identity in the SMTP header FROM field?
- how could we authenticate users
with their corporate badge on MFPs when they are using hp
Autostore or DSS Workflow? This would be much easier than their
login and password.
- Could we allocate the MFP and
printers activity cost to departments/users by authenticating
users with their corporate badge?
- Could we simplify printing by
having only 1 logical print queue on every PC, capable to forward
print jobs to any printer I want in the company?
- How could our users release
documents without any PC ? (factories, shipment, hospitals, oil
rigs, warehouses…)
- How could we secure the printing
of confidential information? (banks, lawyers, hospitals, police,
pharmaceutical companies, aerospace…)
- How could we replace all those
expensive express courier service for our contracts, when sending
confidential documents between sites?
SecureJet, a modular solution to all those questions
SecureJet
is a suite of hardware and firmware modules installed on your printers
and copiers, aimed at answering all those questions. They work
together to fulfill the need and provide a complete system
interfaced with other applications. They are split in 3 families of
modules:
|
 |
 |
 |
|
Modules:
Auth-FP
Authentication on MFP
front panel using PIN codes
Auth-PXT
Authentication on
printers using PIN codes on keypad
Auth-PX
for HID badges
Authentication using
HID Prox or iClass
corporate proximity badges
Auth-PX
Authentication using
proximity badges: Mifare, ISO14443A,
ISO14443B, ISO15693, Legic,
Em-Marin, Hitag 1
Auth-SW
Authentication using
ISO Swipe magnetic cards
Auth-SC
Authentication using
corporate Smartcards
Auth-Fingerprint
Authentication using
Biometrics fingerprint reading
|
Modules:
Print-PS
Server software for:
- server-based job retention (PULL printing)
and
- remote LDAP/AD authentication
Print-SMP
Client module for Printer/MFP providing
- Print jobs
release with secure PUSH/PULL printing
and
- decryption
of encrypted print jobs |
Module:
Track-TRP
-Print/Copy/Fax/E-mail jobs tracking
and
-Extensive printer & server-based web reporting |

SecureJet Auth modules authenticate
users on printers and MFPs using PIN code, proximity badges,
biometrics, swipe cards or smartcards.
SecureJet
Print-SMP encrypts print jobs, store them on the printer or MFP
hard disk drive and release them only when their owner shows up and
authenticates.
It creates very significant productivity and security gains and
reduce cost by getting rid of unclaimed documents on the printers'
output tray.

SecureJet
Print-PS is an option to SecureJet Print-SMP and provides pull
printing service. Print jobs are stored on multiple print servers
throughout the company. Job owners can release them from any
SecureJet Print-SMP enabled printer or MFP on the Intranet as print
jobs are pulled from the server to the printer or MFP upon request.
SecureJet
Track-TRP records and monitors HP LaserJet printer and MFP
activity directly at the device, enhancing accountability and giving
you the ability to assign costs, forecast expenses and target waste
and abuse. By collecting data directly inside the printer or MFP,
SecureJet Track TRP gives you a precise accounting of all walkup and
printing functions.

Productivity &
security gains
Documents won't
be produced until their owner is facing a printer or MFP, ready to
grab them.
This reduces printing waste, increases documents confidentiality and
lets users reclaim documents when and where they need them.
Your printer is
not available? When SecureJet Print-SMP is combined with the
SecureJet Print-PS server software,
jobs are stored on remote print servers and released from any
printer equipped with Print-SMP. One printer/MFP can query directly
up to 5 SecureJet Print-PS print server, and every SecureJet
Print-PS print server is a gateway to all other servers, providing a
fully scalable distributed architecture.
You can then walk
to any SecureJet-enabled printer or MFP on your Intranet to retrieve
your jobs and jobs sent for you by colleagues.
It is also possible to secure document for another person or
department. An admin can then print a contract that her boss will be
able to release just by walking to a printer or MFP. This is also a
great features for workers without PC or palmtop, such as hospital
nurses (to get prescriptions or lab results), oil rig or factory
workers.
Scalable distributed architecture, failover capability
Multiple SecureJet Print-PS servers can be running on the same
Intranet to serve tens of thousands of users. SecureJet Print-SMP
can access those servers in two ways:
-
Up
to 5 Print-PS servers IP address can be defined on each SecureJet
Print-SMP configuration. SecureJet Print-SMP will contact those
servers looking for your jobs. This is a solution very simple to
setup. On the other hand it requires to communicate with each of
those servers, therefore we don't recommend it for WAN usage (the
next method should then be preferred).
-
Up
to 10,000 Print-PS servers can be setup on the Intranet for roaming
printing, and they
share a connection to a Microsoft SQL Server or MSDE database. On a
MFP or printer, SecureJet Print-SMP is configured to access one
Print-PS server. That PS Server will then manage automatically the
retrieval of all jobs information from all Print-PS server on the
Intranet, as well as deletion and release process.
Cluster, Citrix Metaframe and Windows Terminal Server compatible
SecureJet Print-PS and Print SMP driver plug-in are compatible with Windows 2000 and 2003 Cluster servers.
They are also compatible with Citrix
Metaframe and Windows Terminal server, where Print-PS can complement the
virtual desk with perfect virtual printer queue.

SecureJet 5 modules can be combined to achieve the some
functionality. Here are a few examples. Don't hesitate to contact
your Jetmobile VAR for more information on your specific needs.
